About Guitar Workshop - SetUp2Worship

Steve and Joanne Cocking have been bringing guitars back to life and getting the most out of them for over 40 years.

Every year they spend the whole Big Church Day Out weekend working on the artists guitars, and this September we have them here with us to help us with our craft and to help bring our guitars back into the "sweet spot".

Come and hear about their journey, and learn from their vast experience working with every type of guitar you can imagine and with well known artists all over the world.

Workshop Content -

  1. Learn about the office of a Levite in the Kingdom
  2. Learn about the Tabernacle of David and how that relates to today
  3. Learn about consecration and how “The Sound of Heaven” is related
  4. Learn about stewardship
  5. Learn how to restore frets, read the neck, adjust the truss rod, checking electrics, how to restring, choosing strings, string life, cleaning the guitar, nut and saddle profiling, intonation, action adjustment, tuning, day to day care.

NOT ONLY THAT - Bring your guitar (any type) and get it serviced by the experts themselves! If you want your guitar serviced you will need to bring a fresh set of strings. They will transform your guitar into the best it possibly can be, and you can stick around to watch it happen if you want to. All this for the bargain price of £60 if you attend the workshop. It may be possible to work on a second guitar for you at the price of £70.

Guitars will be serviced on a first booked first served basis. Steve and Joanne will work their hardest to get through all the guitars that have been booked in (prioritising 1st guitars, then moving to 2nd guitars if time allows).

The workshop will run from 9am - 11am, then Steve and Joanne will get to work on your guitars for the rest of Saturday and into Sunday (after church) if necessary.
